Welcome to Concerned Citizens for Animals Shelter
Located on 5 acres in a quiet rural setting, the Concerned Citizens for Animals shelter provides a homelike setting for its animals awaiting adoption. Surrounded by trees, birds, and an abundance of wildlife, our animals enjoy a variety of sights, sounds, and smells to enrich their days. Every day brings something new to capture their attention.
Walking through our cat rooms you’ll likely hear our cats chattering at the variety of birds that come to partake of our many feeders or drink from the birdbaths. Deer and wild turkeys make for excitement when they cross through our shelter grounds.
This property is also the final resting place of many animals whose owners understand the dignity and caring their pets receive here on their way to the Rainbow Bridge. Grave markers range from the simplest engraved brick to an angel monument worthy of a most notable passing. A stroll of the CCA cemetery is a reminder of how much each animal is loved and remembered still.
The brick courtyard surrounding the shelter building is evidence of the generous support CCA has received over the years from businesses and people who believe in us and see the value in our work. The etchings also tell the stories of people and pets honored or memorialized by those to whom they meant so much.
But in the end, Dorothy was right. “There’s no place like home.” And it is a fur-ever home with a caring and responsible family that we seek for every animal in our care. Please take a moment to view the dogs and cats we currently have available. Each is deserving of your consideration and a home to call its own.
Please also consider supporting our work with your tax-deductible donations.
Volunteer opportunities abound at CCA, so be sure to check out the many ways in which you can be involved.
